Mohlabetsi Self Catering Bush Lodge is nestled in the beautiful Balule Private Game Reserve, in the Greater Kruger and offers charming, thatched accommodation surrounded by the most amazing views of the bush veld.
The accommodation is completely private and composed of a standalone entertainment area and 5 bedrooms with air conditioning to accommodate up to 10 guests.
The main area comprises of a fully equipped kitchen, pantry, bar, dining and sitting area, in a recently renovated, modern setting. The numerous stacking doors open to the pool and braai area, and the deck overlooking a waterhole, allowing for an indoor-outdoor living space to fully take in the tranquility and beauty of the bush surrounding you.
The Bush Lodge is fully serviced and offers 2 private game drives per day, led by an experienced guide. Our 12 000 hectares traverse within the Balule Private Nature Reserve, in the heart of the Greater Kruger National Park, is home to many animals including the Big 5 and offers endless views of untouched wilderness. You will also be able to enjoy the world renowned, majestic, South African sunsets as your guide will make sure to have a private sundowner stop during your safari.

Guests can arrange shopping through Pick n Pay Hoedspruit for delivery the day of arrival. These groceries will be unpacked and ready for the guests. They can also arrange a private chef (a maximum of 8 guests can be accommodated with a chef).

The lodge can be found in the Lowveld region of the Limpopo Province, situated 10 kilometres North of Hoedspruit. It enjoys excellent accessibility, being located only 7 kilometres away from the R40, a major road that runs along the Western edge of the Kruger National Park. The lodge is centrally positioned between the Orpen and the Phalaborwa Gates of the Kruger National Park and is conveniently located near the “Panorama Route,” which follows the Drakensberg Escarpment. Our lodge is part of the Balule Nature Reserve, a conservation area spanning 55,000 hectares that is bordered by the Olifants River to the North, Klaserie Nature Reserve and the Kruger National Park to the East, and the R40 national road to the West. Balule is incorporated into the Greater Kruger National Park Management Area, and we have traversing rights on over 12,000 hectares of pristine wilderness.
The Bush Lodge is a self-catering lodge that boasts five en-suite rooms featuring outside showers, except for one that includes an inside shower as well. Each room features stunning vistas of the bushveld and overlooks a popular waterhole. Additionally, guests have the use of a fully equipped kitchen to cook their own meals and enjoy them either in the well-appointed indoor dining room or have a traditional campfire dinner using the braai. The Lodge also boasts a sparkling swimming pool for guests to unwind and refresh in. There is a backup power system available at the lodge for main lights and fridges in case of load-shedding. Please note guests will need a high clearance vehicle to access the property.
In the late afternoon, guests embark on a thrilling game drive that extend into the evening aboard an open Land Rover. Along the way, there is a stop for sundowners before the flashlight is brought out. The game in the area is abundant and accustomed to vehicles, resulting in high-quality sightings, including regular sightings of the “Big 5”. In the morning, guests are taken out at sunrise for a drive that lasts approximately three hours before returning to the lodge.
